WATCH THE BIRDIE
18" wide by 24" tall
We first visited Santa Fe to bring artwork and meet the personnel of Manitou Galleries. It was springtime and all of the trees were in full bloom. I made sure I had brought my camera and took many photos of the blossoms as well as the many birds. The top half of this piece was from a photo taken right i the courtyard of the Canyon Road gallery. I knew I just had to use this scene somehow, and the challenge to have two animals was enough to make me figure out haw to do it. The young cougar photo was one I thought I would never use. It worked perfectly for this one, as the curiosity and innocence shows in her face and the phrase was a familiar one old time photographers used to keep their young subjects staring intently at the camera.
